An Honor!

I am so honored! My friend Caroline Gunston, who is completing her art degree in the UK, chose to include and write beautifully about my paintings in her “research log” of works that inspire her! Thank you once again Caroline!

Single Fare 4

I just finished taking part in Single Fare 4, a highly anticipated show of 7000 works on MetroCards to benefit the New York Academy of Art in NYC.  I had 5 works in the show and I am thrilled that all 5 were purchased by collectors and are going to new homes:

Poets and Artists Magaizine: Familia/Family Edition

I am truly honored and excited that my painting "Carried Forward" (pg 82) was selected for inclusion in this latest issue of PoetsArtists Magazine, entitled Family / La Familia. The magazine is beautifully produced by Didi Menendez, expertly curated by David Jon Kassan and Shana Levenson, with an excellent forward written by Daniel Maidman. There are a number of my most highly admired contempory painters included. My painting represents how the experiences and values of our ancestors, family and friends light our way forward, propelling us to fight for each other and what we know is right. Support PoetsArtists and download it here ($10) and/or follow the link to the preview and printed issue ($35). Find it here: Poets and Artists Magaizine Family Edition

Atlantic Gallery: Connections II

In July, I had the honor of having my paintings included in the invitational Connections II show my plein air painting at the Atlantic Gallery in Chelsea, NYC:

Catskills

Each summer I paint at least once in the Catskills. This painting is from a visit to Ballentine Park, in Andes, NY...one of my favorite places!

Chelsea Classical Studio/Rick Piloco's Alla Prima Portrait Class

I continue to attend this class every chance I get. Rick Piloco is an extraordinary artist and teacher! I very highly recommend his class...and the school in Chelsea, NYC! This model was particularly inspiring for me:

Salmagundi Draw-a-Thon of June 2017

In June, I participated in the Salmagundi Club Draw-a-Thon. It is alway wonderful to visit this historic art club in NYC. It was great fun and I look forward to the next time!

Art League of Nassua County Demo of June 2017

Catching up with my posts here! In June I had the honor of giving a portrait drawing demo at The rt League of Nassau County. It was such a great group and experience! My chinldhood friend Howie posed for me. I enjoyed drawing him so much that we invited him to Chelsea Classical Studio to sit for an alla prima oil portrait session a few weeks later. Here are each of the works:
